This is the proposal I turned in.
Solar cells convert light into electricity. I want to see what is the best position for the cells in relation to the sun. My hypothesis is that solar cells that are level and facing up toward the sun will be the most efficient.
I will test this by having one solar panel that is facing up. A second solar panel will be at a 45-degree angle. A third solar panel will be at a 90-degree angle.
I will need three solar panels, wiring, and a voltage meter, with a board and a level for mounting the panels. I plan to test the voltage generated by each solar panel in the morning and afternoon over several days. I will chart the time, weather, and output for each panel and compare the results.
